Cuban Film Screenings

On April 24-25, CAMS and the Office of Study Abroad are hosting Cuban film critic Gustavo Arcos, who will lead discussions in response to screenings of the contemporary Cuban films, “El Techo” and “Conducta.”


The End of Man Symposium

CAMS is hosting cultural theorist and photographer Joanna Zylinska of Goldsmiths, University of London to present her book(let) “The End of Man, A Tragicomedy,” which offers an ironic take on one of the dominant apocalyptic narratives of our times. The event will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 in Gilman 479.


Documenting the Spirit Panel

Documenting the Spirit is a panel put on by CAMS and the Baltimore Museum of Art at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 1. This panel, moderated by Dr. Bernadette Wegenstein, brings together practitioners, scholars, and observers of various religious and shamanistic traditions.

Susana Rocha Teixeira, Spring 2017 Visiting Scholar

Susana Rocha Teixeira is a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the English Department and member of the Heidelberg Graduate School at Heidelberg University. Her interests lie in twentieth- and twenty-first-century North American literature, movies and TV-series, and the American makeover culture. She will be a visiting scholar in the Spring 2017.
