Project Description

This study intends to compare the prices of seasonal and organic produce between farmers’ markets and chain supermarkets in Baltimore city throughout the summer and autumn months. We are testing the two-sided hypothesis if prices in farmers’ markets and chain supermarkets are the same, segregated by several factors. Regardless of whether the hypothesis holds true, the results of this study can directly influence current policies about food stamp benefits and agriculture. This study will also hopefully inspire further research on this budding topic.
