Summer Program at Homewood
July 3–August 4, 2017
The ESL Summer Program provides complete language immersion. The full-time program provides at least 22 hours of classroom instruction per week. Morning core courses in Listening and Speaking and Reading and Writing help you to “fit in” at the lab, office, or college classroom. Specialized morning and afternoon courses enable you to “stand out” when taking the TOEFL, discussing American culture, or making medical presentations. Testing before and advising throughout the five-week term guarantee placement in classes that meet your needs and interests.
For part-time study, you may select one or two courses to polish your skills and enhance your career, or just enjoy yourself.
And learning at Hopkins doesn’t end in the classroom…
There are many activities planned after class to further sharpen your skills, including: conversation groups, movie nights, a Baltimore Orioles’ baseball game, outing at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, and other social gatherings on and near the beautiful Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus.
Full immersion program: $2,500
The full program consists of three courses: Listening and Speaking; Reading and Writing; and the third course is a choice of American Culture, TOEFL Preparation/Grammar, or Accent Reduction.
Part-time: $895 per course
Students unable to attend the full program may select one or two courses. See complete details of course offerings.
Limited housing is available for students 18 and older in university residence halls. Meal plans can also be arranged. If you would like to stay in university residence halls, please inform the ESL office when registering. For more information visit the Department of Housing and Dining.
