Thanks to the support of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, students in Museums and Society's Spring 2013 course, Photographs on the Edge, worked under the supervision of Nancy Micklewright to curate "In Focus: Ara Güler's Anatolia" at the Smithsonian's Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. The exhibition presents never-before-shown photographs of important Anatolian monuments and engages visitors in a critical debate in Güler's work about whether photography is an art form or a means of documentation. Hear from our students about the project here.
