GENERAL MEETING

There is an NRP General Meeting TONIGHT at 9:00 pm in Mergenthaler 111.

There will be PIZZA!!!!  All are welcome.

PRESIDENT’S DAY OF SERVICE

We would like to thank the President’s Day of Service Volunteers for representing Nu Rho Psi at this year’s event.

This year Julied Bautista, Marysol Encarnacion, Edgar Fiallos, Evelyn Ho, Ryan Gallo, Brent Mayfield, Jessica Park, Jun Hyun Park, Andrew Russo, Aniqa Tasnim, and Arushi Tripathy helped to clean up the neighborhood around Hopkins.

BRAIN AWARENESS WEEK – NEXT WEEK

Join NRP next week for BRAIN AWARENESS WEEK!!!

 

Here are the scheduled events:

Monday:  Brain Myth Trivia Night at Nolan’s at 7:30 pm

Tuesday:  Effects of Caffeine and Breakfast on the Brain on the Krieger/Ames Breezeway from 8:30 - 10:30 am

Thursday: Imaging on Q-Level (Library) from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Friday: Effect of Alcohol on the Brain on the Krieger/Ames Breezeway from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm

To all that submitted designs and took the time to vote for our Annual Neuroscience T-shirt – THANK YOU!!!

The winner will be announced at our Annual Holiday party – where you will all receive this year’s t-shirt.

UNDERGRADUATE NEUROSCIENCE STEERING COMMITTEE

The Undergraduate Neuroscience Steering Committee (UNSC) was established to foster better communication between the Neuroscience Program Committee and the students on events relating to the curriculum of the program. 

We now have a tab on the Neuroscience website – under “Undergraduate Program” - with the contact information for the class representatives.

Please contact your UNSC Representatives if there are issues you would like to be addressed at the committee meetings.  

Our next meeting will be in mid – November. 

DELOITTE RECRUITING EVENT

Leveraging Diversity for a Successful Career Diversity Panel

Diversity is key to success. Diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and interests are crucial for successful endeavors. Join Deloitte practitioners for a Diversity Panel event featuring a presentation and interactive panel discussing the role of diversity and inclusion within Deloitte and the workplace. The event will be followed by an open networking session and light refreshments will be served.

FALL TRAVEL GRANTS – SFN IN
WASHINGTON DC

There is still time to register to attend the Society for Neuroscience meeting in DC on Nov. 15th – 19th

Please fill out the Grant form  and bring it to the Program Office and see Laurie Troyer to register for SFN.

IMPORTANT:  Please have your unofficial transcript and your CV on a flash drive when you come to the office.

2015 Margaret “Meg” Long Walsh/SDS Leadership Award

The 2015 Meg Walsh Award application is now available at www.krieger.jhu.edu/sds/for-students/meg-walsh-award/

This award provides a graduating senior from the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences with $15,000 to undertake an independent project of their own unique design involving international travel.

Projects may be in any area, including public service, creative or artistic, research-whatever the applicant desires. The project may not, however, include extended study at a foreign university.

CONFERENCE ROOM

The Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology Conference Room,
located in 414 Dunning Hall,
is open for your gathering & studying pleasure.
