Project Description

Films of ‘The Now’: A Cinematic Exploration of Technology’s Effect on Society

The objective of the project was to develop a series of film vignettes that focused on a central theme: how we interact with today’s advances in technology and what effect they have on us societally. This project was a collaboration between myself and the film community at Johns Hopkins and at large. Although every story was designed to revolve around the central theme, each individual vignette was to be told from a diverse and disparate perspective. Through the development stage, six short screenplays were written, two of which made it to production. The project was both an examination of the societal implications of technology as well as a self-reflection on the benefits and disadvantages of working in a collaborative environment.
