Construction of an Electrospray Ionization Source for Magnetic Bottle Photoelectron Spectroscopy of Cluster Anions: A Method to Obtain Fundamental Chemical Information
My research has focused on the construction of a new apparatus for electrospray ionization. This apparatus has been coupled to our existing time of flight photoelectron spectrometer. This new source will allow us to conduct research on the electronic structure of substances in the condensed phase, an area of research that was previously unavaliable to our group. Potential systems sleceted for future study include ionic liquids, monovalent aluminum hydrides, and lithium battery electrolytes.
