Evelyn Jerome Alexander ’92
Evelyn Jerome Alexander is a principal of the Los Angeles-based public affairs firm SJA Strategies. Ms. Alexander has worked behind the scenes in dozens of political campaigns, guiding candidates for school board, city council, state assembly, and judicial office to victory over the past fifteen years. She brings skills in message development, media relations and team management to her clients.
Ms. Alexander served as a partner in Forman/Jerome Consulting, managing communications and public affairs projects for multiple corporate, non-profit and political clients. Prior to that, she served as a Vice President at MWW Group, the 10th largest public relations firm in the U.S., where she advised corporate clients on government and community relations strategies. She also served as legislative deputy to a Los Angeles City Councilmember.
Past and current clients include Thomas Properties Group, the California Women’s Law Center, Segway, the Los Angeles Community College District, the Los Angeles Air Force Base Regional Alliance, the Van Nuys Airport Association and Californians for Technology and Video Choice.
Ms. Alexander has published seven opinion-editorial works on behalf of her clients, and authored a full-length article in the October/November, 2002 edition of Campaigns & Elections Magazine about a land use initiative whose victory she secured.
By appointment of Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, Ms. Alexander has served for seven years on the Los Angeles County Aviation Commission, which she chaired in 2003 and chairs again in 2008. She has held a private pilot’s license for 11 years. She also served as President of the Johns Hopkins University Alumni Association’s Los Angeles Chapter from 2001 through 2007. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Hopkins and a Master of Arts from the George Washington University.
