Jason Gaarder ’89

Jason joined Legg Mason in July 2000 as Associate General Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department, working primarily on employment matters and NASD arbitrations involving customers of the broker-dealer. Since the Legg Mason/Citigroup transaction in 2005, his focus has shifted to asset management litigation and litigation support issues. Prior to joining Legg Mason, Jason worked at several large law firms in both New York City and Baltimore. He obtained a B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1989 and obtained his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 1993. Jason also maintains a Series 7 license and serves as an arbitrator for both the NASD and the NYSE.
