As a Woodrow Wilson Fellow, Robert reached out to the Baltimore City community to find the best location to stage the world premiere production of his original script. In August of 2011, his play “BUMP: A Tabloid Story” premiered at the Baltimore Theatre Project to rave reviews with a strong audience response that varied the entire reactionary spectrum. When the project concluded, Powers knew he had created, bold, innovative new theatre that would shine a light towards the lofty artistic goals he had lain before him at the very beginning of his project.
