Project Description

East Baltimore faces a grave food desert problem where the inhabitants do not have adequate access to healthy, affordable foods for reasons of availability, accessibility or affordability.  To determine the cause, research has been done on the types of foods served at restaurants and grocery stores where locals frequently visit, price range of those foods, price range of whole foods, areas where whole foods are sold and the types of health illnesses that may arise as a result of certain dietary choices.  After analyzing those factors, a collaboration work has been done with other student groups to educate the population on the gravity of such health risks and sustainable lifestyle changes toward healthy living.
