“Not In Our Neighborhood”–A 2018 Documentary Directed by Kurt Orderson

Award-winning director Kurt Orderson and co-producer Najma Nuriddin will participate in a panel discussion and Q&A along with Daniel Pasciuti (Georgia State), Alessandro Angelini (JHU Anthropology) and Ricardo Jacobs (JHU Sociology) following a screening of “Not in Our Neighborhood” (2018).

The documentary cohesively facilitates an international dialogue on gentrification and spatial apartheid by exploring the parallels among the current urban environments in three seemingly disparate cities: São Paulo, Cape Town, and New York.

Sponsored by the Arrighi Center for Global Studies and co-sponsored by the Program in Racism, Immigration and CitizenshipProgram in Latin American Studies; and Billie Holiday Project for Liberation Arts.
