Research Specialist, Psychology Department, University of Pennsylvania

The Research Specialist will have the opportunity to conduct independent and supervised research projects in service of the lab’s funded research topics. For more information on the Thompson-Schill Lab, please visit the lab website.

Lab Manager, Visual Perception, Barnard College

The Barnard Vision Lab is accepting applications for a full-time lab manager position, starting summer 2021. Our lab studies visual perception, attention, and reading. We use a combination of psychophysics, eye-tracking, and fMRI brain imaging.

SMILE

Student Employment Services has been transformed into a new department called University Experiential Learning. Under this new model, faculty and staff from all JHU schools and divisions will have access to one new platform, SMILE, to post information on paid campus internships as well as traditional student employment opportunities. All positions posted on SMILE, whether as student jobs or paid internships, are non-credit-bearing, compensated via JHU payroll, and part-time.

Gap Year Opportunity

Paid Gap-year(s) research position in Dr. Patricia Janak’s Behavioral Neuro Lab

The Janak Lab, a behavioral neuroscience lab focused on examining the neural circuitry of motivation and addictive behaviors in the rodent model, is looking to hire a new full-time lab technician, starting this summer and working for at least 1 year. In this position, you would spend around 50% of your time assisting with ongoing experiments of current graduate students and postdocs in the lab (and possibly, running your own experiment), while in the other half of your time, working on lab maintenance, placing lab purchases/orders, maintaining animal care documents, and some budgeting items. Having experience with animal research and a background in neuroscience/behavioral biology is a bonus but not necessary! BROAD Institute, Broad Biomedical Post-bacculaureate Scholars Program at MIT & Harvard offers paid positions while studying and conducting research. Deadline 1/18/2021. An innovative, two-year program, BBPS offers participants a comprehensive, structured and immersive experience that includes groundbreaking research and academic and career guidance. BBPS participants will carry out research as paid, full-time Associate Computational Biologists or Research Associates, working alongside leading scientists within the Broad Institute. Eligibility – seniors or recent graduates who majored in the biological, physical or computer sciences, engineering or mathematics, and are interested in pursuing a graduate degree (M.S., Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D.) 

The Broad Summer Research Program This program offers students with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM disciplines the opportunity to conduct intensive research in a collaborative community.BSRP participants spend the summer performing original computational or experimental-based research in labs across the Broad Institute’s research areas, from cancer to infectious disease to computational biology. CIRCUIT This Cohort-Based Integrated Research Community for Undergraduate Innovation and Trailblazing that offers students $9,000 to participate in cutting-edge research experiences in connectomics (study of connections within an organisms nervous system) at the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) in Laurel, MD. Students will have the opportunity to build skills and make significant contributions to science in a fun, collaborative environment with an expanded variety of research topics.

Nemours Summer Undergraduate Research Program Nemours is accepting applications for funded Summer Research Scholar positions in the Summer 2021 program. NSURP is a 10-week, full-time program that offers opportunities consisting of laboratory-based, translational, and clinical biomedical research projects. The available positions are located at three Nemours sites. Online applications open on December 1, 2020 through January 15, 2021.  All letters of reference must be received by 11:59 PM EST on January 31, 2021 for consideration by the selection committee; applications lacking letters of reference after January 31 will be considered incomplete.
