AS.383.211 Second Year Sanskrit<\/strong> (fall term)
This course aims to review and stabilize the knowledge of Sanskrit grammar, and to develop the ability to read Sanskrit texts autonomously with the aid of a dictionary. The first semester will feature selections from the Sanskrit epics, the R\u0101m\u0101ya\u1e47a and the Mah\u0101bh\u0101rata, or other examples of narrative literature. Selections will vary from year to year according to student interest. Prereq.: AS.383.112 or instructor’s permission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AS.383.212 Second Year Sanskrit II<\/strong> (spring term)
This course is a continuation of AS 383.211. It continues the development of autonomous reading ability in Sanskrit and deepens knowledge of poetics and metrics. Selections will be drawn from the Upani\u1e63ads, philosophical literature, or k\u0101vya. They will vary from year to year according to student interest. Prereq.: AS.383.211 or instructor’s permission<\/p>\n\n\n\n
