The United States Government, museums, Non-governmental organizations and think tanks are common internship employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students also have resources and assistance finding and applying to internships through the <a href=\"https:\/\/imagine.jhu.edu\/channels\/life-design-lab\/\">Life Design Lab.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The United States Government<\/strong> Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.intelligencecareers.gov\/nsa\/nsastudents.html\">National Security Agency<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Security Agency internship program allows students to learn more about American intelligence and security within specialized fields including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Computer science, computer\/electrical engineering, and information systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mechanical\/civil engineering and architecture<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Political science, international affairs, and criminal justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The NSA also offers the Summer Language Program in which students are apprenticed experienced language analysts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Senate and House of Representatives<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/pagelayout\/visiting\/h_multi_sections_and_teasers\/employment.htm\">United States Senate<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.house.gov\/educators-and-students\/college-internships\">House of Representatives<\/a> offer college internship opportunities in Washington D.C. Students gain experience on the Hill and learn about policy making and civic engagement. Internships with elected officials are also offered throughout the country in district offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/careers.state.gov\/intern\/student-internships\/\">State Department<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The State Department offers unpaid internships with the opportunity to work in U.S. embassies and consulates throughout the world including Asia, as well as in various bureaus located in Washington, D.C. and at Department offices around the United States. This program is designed to provide substantive learning experiences in a foreign affairs environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Museums<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asia.si.edu\/research\/fellowships-internships\/\">Freer Gallery of Art &amp; Arthur M. Sackler Gallery<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Freer Gallery of Art &amp; Arthur M. Sackler Gallery offers a wide range of internships and fellowships within Asian art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thewalters.org\/about\/research\/fellowship-internship\/\">Walters Art Gallery<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Walters Art Museum offers several fellowship and internship opportunities for undergraduates and graduate students with demonstrated interest in art history or museum studies and has a good collection of Asian art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Non-governmental organizations and&nbsp;<\/strong>think tanks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aei.org\/internships\/\">American Enterprise Institute<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AEI offers students internships that allow them to work directly with scholars, economists, political scientists, and foreign policy specialists conducting research on public policy questions. Internships include opportunities related to economics, health care, poverty studies, politics and public opinion, government relations, media relations, and communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.advancingjustice-aajc.org\/clerkships-and-internships\">Asian American Justice Center<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>AAJC provides unpaid internship positions for students interested in gaining first-hand experience in civil rights advocacy. Interns are expected to commit to 16-20 hours per week during the winter\/spring or summer semester, though specific start and end dates are flexible and weekly hours will be set upon selection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/asiasociety.org\/about\/interns-and-volunteers\">Asia Society<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Asia Society is an educational organization \u201cdedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders, and institutions of Asia and the United States in a global context.\u201d It offers unpaid internships in its DC and NY office in a range of fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/apaics.org\/programs\/internship\/\">The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS)<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>APAICS provides internships for Asian American &amp; Pacific Islander undergraduate students in congressional offices, allowing students to increase their experience with public policy and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/interns-brookings.icims.com\/jobs\/intro?hashed=-435682078&amp;mobile=false&amp;width=890&amp;height=500&amp;bga=true&amp;needsRedirect=false&amp;jan1offset=-300&amp;jun1offset=-240\">Brookings Institution<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Brookings Institution provides internship opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students in areas including economic studies, foreign policy, global economy and development, governance studies, and metropolitan policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csis.org\/programs\/about-us\/careers-and-internships\/internships\">Center for Strategic &amp; International Studies<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>CSIS offers full-time and part-time internships for undergraduates, advanced students, and recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy.
