Are you passionate about the environment? Do you want to make a positive difference in the world? Then consider Environmental Science and Studies (ENVS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is an increasing need for well trained problem solvers who can contribute to the solutions to today’s environmental problems and help move society toward a more sustainable future. The ENVS program at JHU prepares students for graduate study and careers in environmentally related fields. Our curriculum provides a solid interdisciplinary background, research and internship experiences, and room for students to explore their own interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs for environmental scientists and specialists<\/a> are expected to increase by 8% between 2020 and 2030. Examples of employment opportunities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jobs with these entities can involve doing science, policy analysis, education, communications, advocacy, etc., depending on the individual’s interests and expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Graduate study allows for further specialization in a particular field and additional job and advancement opportunities. One such option for ENVS majors is an accelerated pathway through the M.S. in Environmental Sciences and Policy degree or M.S. in Geographic Information Systems degree from the JHU Advanced Academic Programs<\/a> (AAP).
