Studying abroad or doing additional research or internships beyond the standard course requirements enrich students&#8217; educations and enable them to obtain valuable experience in preparation for future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/envs\/opportunities\/study-abroad\/\">Studying abroad<\/a>, especially in an environmentally oriented program, can be a life-changing experience that broadens a student&#8217;s perspective and strengthens&nbsp;his or her commitment to being an agent of positive change in the world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Obtaining <a href=\"http:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/envs\/opportunities\/research\/\">research experience<\/a> as an undergraduate is especially important for students planning to attend graduate school.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/envs\/opportunities\/internships\/\">Internships<\/a> allow students to explore different career options, add skills and experience to a r\u00e9sum\u00e9, and make connections with potential future employers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Graduates of the ENVS program who choose to pursue an <a href=\"https:\/\/advanced.jhu.edu\/academics\/graduate-degree-programs\/environmental-sciences-and-policy\/\">MS in Environmental Sciences and Policy (ESP)<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/advanced.jhu.edu\/academics\/graduate-degree-programs\/geographic-information-systems\/\">Geographic Information Systems (GIS)<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/advanced.jhu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">JHU&#8217;s Advanced Academic Programs<\/a> can apply one or more of their undergraduate courses to the MS degree requirements, thus shortening the time it takes to complete the master&#8217;s degree.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ENVS majors and minors are encouraged to take advantage of all the opportunities that a JHU education has to offer.
