Film and Media Studies was honored to welcome producer Alexandra Byer back to Baltimore for a master class with students followed by screening of the award-winning Familiar Touch. The film follows Ruth, an octogenarian, who is adjusting to life in assisted living.


Film Archive Finds Home at JHU

When Geoff Alexander, founder, director, and CEO of the Academic Film Archive of North America (AFANA) began looking for a place to donate the 7,600 16mm films in his collection, Johns Hopkins was one of the places he considered. After a visit to JHU and the Sheridan Libraries, his decision was made.
