{"id":269,"date":"2026-03-20T17:03:11","date_gmt":"2026-03-20T17:03:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/graduate-postdoc\/?page_id=269"},"modified":"2026-07-10T16:03:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-10T20:03:30","slug":"deadlines-and-instructions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/graduate-postdoc\/academic-affairs\/deadlines-and-instructions\/","title":{"rendered":"Deadlines and Instructions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All these deadlines and instructions apply to residential master&#8217;s and PhD students only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students are required to follow the preferred notification process as set out by their department program coordinators and\/or administrators to confirm their dissertation has been submitted and accepted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.library.jhu.edu\/library-services\/electronic-theses-dissertations\/\">ETD Office<\/a>.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>While not required, it is encouraged that students forward either ETD approval email to <a href=\"mailto:rseitz5@jhu.edu\">Renee Eastwood<\/a> and <a href=\"mailto:jharris@jhu.edu\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"mailtojharris@jhu.edu\">Jasmine Harris<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All students will need to apply for graduation via SIS or by submitting a <a href=\"https:\/\/support.sis.jhu.edu\/find-answers\/records-and-registration\/graduation-commencement-inquiry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SEAM ticket<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All students must be added to the applicable Expected to Graduate List (ETGL) per conferral term in order to be added to adequately reviewed by all divisional and university committees for official conferral of their degree. \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Failure to add all students to the ETGL could result in degree conferral delays. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students who do not meet the conferral deadline will automatically be moved to the next eligible conferral term. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All graduate doctoral board data must be entered into SIS-prod in order for the Graduate Education Office to compile the list of eligible graduates for each conferral term. Please reach out to Jasmine Harris if you have questions about the data that is required and\/or the data entry website. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Considerations For Conferral Types<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pre-semester completers (PSC) are not required to register for the term they complete degree requirements. There will be no tuition or health insurance premiums assessed for the applicable term. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grace period completers (GPC), while required to register for the term they complete degree requirements, they are eligible to <a href=\"https:\/\/seam.jhu.edu\/billing\/pay-your-tuition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">defer tuition charges<\/a> for the applicable term. While health insurance premiums will be assessed, student may be eligible to waiver coverage.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>More information on health insurance coverage waivers can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/jhuphd.myahpcare.com\/waiver\">American Health Plans website<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regular completers are required to register for the term they complete degree requirements, are required to be enrolled in university health insurance coverage (or can waive coverage, if eligible).
