The Alexander Grass Humanities Institute and The Writing Seminars invite undergraduates in the Krieger School, but also those fantasists in the Whiting School, to write a story based on, or inspired by the novel Frankenstein. The writing contest, with an award of $250, and possible publication in The Hopkins Review, is part of a celebration at Homewood of the 200th anniversary of the novel’s publication. Frankenstein, indeed, started as a contest, initiated by the spouses, Mary Godwin and Percy Bysshe Shelley, and their friend, Lord Byron.
All submissions can be submitted to Professor Jean McGarry at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Friday, October 26, 2018.
