Check out a mini-series on performance for The Hopkins Review that includes edited transcripts with the performers of three performances hosted at Hopkins and supported by AGHI: extreme lyric I (2020), VITRUVIAN (2023), and Bacchae Before (2023).
An impetus for gathering these conversations on THR was SFMOMA’s regrettable decision to stop funding Open Space (part of a pattern of closures of literary and visual arts journals in recent years), as well as a desire to archive aspects of our two stunning performances in 2023.
Editor Jennifer Stager introduces the release of these transcripts, plus the re-release of an earlier one (launched on the day lockdown for COVID-19 began in Baltimore) with a word about the last several years in public performance: “Performing the Archive | Archiving Performance.”
The full collection, edited and introduced by Stager, is available as a feature on THR‘s website.
