Andrew H. Miller is Professor of English at Johns Hopkins University. \u00a0He was long-time editor of the journal\u00a0Victorian Studies\u00a0<\/em>and a founder of the North American Victorian Studies Association.<\/p>\r\n
Professor Miller specializes in nineteenth century British literature and, more generally, in the relation of literature to moral philosophy. \u00a0His publications include\u00a0On Not Being Someone Else: Stories of our Unled Lives\u00a0<\/em>(2020, Harvard University Press),\u00a0The Burdens of Perfection: \u00a0On Ethics and Reading in Nineteenth Century Literature\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0(Cornell University Press, 2008) and\u00a0Novels Behind Glass: \u00a0Commodity Culture and Victorian Narrative\u00a0<\/em>(Cambridge University Press, 1995).
