We kick things off TONIGHT (Monday, January 29th) and carry on through the late spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are the new events, titles, and synopses we&#8217;ve got to loo forward to for the next several months:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>January 29 (Monday)<\/strong>: Humanities in the Village \u2014 join <strong>David Steiner<\/strong> (JHU School of Education) in conversation with <strong>Fred Lazarus<\/strong> (former President of MICA) at Bird in Hand at 6:30pm!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>February 4 (Sunday)<\/strong>: Humanities on the Mall (DC) \u2014 hear from some of the foremost experts on education at the college level in America: <strong>Michael S. Roth<\/strong> (President, Wesleyan University); <strong>Chris Celenza<\/strong> (JHU Dean of Arts &amp; Sciences); and <strong>Aliza Watters<\/strong> (moderator; Director of FYS and Asst. Dean) on &#8220;Students, College Campuses, Difficult Conversations.&#8221; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March 4 (Sunday)<\/strong>: Humanities on the Mall (DC) \u2014 listen to Prof. <strong>Sean Carroll<\/strong> (host of <em>Mindscape <\/em>podcast) chat with Prof. <strong>Hahrie Han<\/strong> (Director, SNF Agora Institute of JHU) about &#8220;The Physics of Democracy.&#8221; <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Annual Richard A. Macksey Lectures for 2024, with guest speaker <strong>Merve Emre<\/strong> \u2014\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>March 7 (Baltimore)<\/strong>: \u201cToo Close Reading: On American Miniaturism\u201d <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March 8 (DC)<\/strong>: \u201cWhy I Feel Bad for Men, or Reading \u2018A Room of One\u2019s Own\u2019 with Pierre Bourdieu\u201d <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>April 7 (Sunday)<\/strong>: Humanities on the Mall (DC) \u2014 attend a screening, followed by a director Q&amp;A, for <em>Devoti Tutti<\/em> (a new feminist film about Saint Agatha of Catania), with Prof. <strong>Bernadette Wegenstein<\/strong> in conversation with <strong>Eugenio Refini<\/strong> (NYU).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>And that&#8217;s just the beginning.
