Students work with faculty advisors from two different Ph.D. fields, one of which must be humanistic, to create a custom program that combines the methods, resources, and requirements of these two fields; on this basis, they develop and carry out their specific interdisciplinary course of study and research.\u00a0 The program is administered by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/humanities-institute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/humanities-institute\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1697230215128000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0ETgt97SXQSNk_exya4rzN\">Alexander Grass Humanities Institute<\/a>.\u00a0 Applications for\u00a0Fall 2024\u00a0entry are\u00a0due Feb. 15, 2024. More information on the Ph.D. in IHS program can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/humanities-institute\/student-opportunities\/phd-program\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/humanities-institute\/student-opportunities\/phd-program\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1697230215128000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2v4o0yPsMbIMSi2HmGCAz6\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The information session on November 7th\u00a0will feature Professor\u00a0Ian Phillips\u00a0of Philosophy and Cognitive Science, who will talk about what it is like to do interdisciplinary research bridging two disciplines; and also\u00a0Rui Zhe Goh, a second-year Ph.D. student in the IHS program, whose project bridges Psychology and Philosophy. Rui Zhe will talk about his experiences as a pioneer in this new program.\u00a0 There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions about the program and the kind of research it aims to support.
