This all-day symposium, “Forbidden Subjects: Sex, Class, and Race and 150 years of Immigration Exclusions<\/strong>,” commemorates the 150th anniversary of the first federal restrictive immigration law (the Page Act of 1875).  We will be joined by other leading scholars of immigration history and law from around the country and JHU.  The lecture symposium will offer a unique opportunity for interested students, faculty, and broader community members to come together around what will likely become an even more urgent topic in the new year.
