Sydney Van Morgan Appointed New Program Director

The Program in International Studies has a new director! Sydney Van Morgan comes to Johns Hopkins from Cornell University, where she received a PhD in government and taught courses on European comparative political sociology, ethnic violence, and political parties. She is the primary adviser for the undergraduate major in international studies, administers the BA/MA programs with Sciences Po and with the Paul H. Nitze School for Advanced International Studies in DC, and oversees the Foreign Language and Area Studies fellowship program at Johns Hopkins.

Dr. Van Morgan is actively involved in several professional organizations in the field of international education, where she has presented papers on topics such as evaluation practices and enrollment trends in international studies.

Sydney Van Morgan also has an appointment as senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology.
