The Worldly Political Economy: Historical and Contemporary Critiques of Global Capitalism Conference<\/strong> will be held on May 1 and 2, 2026 at the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus (exact location TBD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference convenes at a moment when questions of colonialism, development, and global capitalism demand renewed critical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference is co-sponsored by The Center for Economy and Society, the Center for Africana Studies, the Program in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies, the Program in International Studies, the Agora Institute, and the Chloe Center. Within the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, support is also provided by the departments of Modern Languages and Literatures, Political Science, Sociology, and Philosophy, as well as the Women, Gender, and Sexuality Program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
