On May 20th, the International Studies Program<\/strong> gathered at Gertrude’s<\/strong>, located in the Baltimore Museum of Art, for our 2026 Commencement Reception<\/strong>. The event was a joyful celebration of this year\u2019s graduating seniors and the remarkable accomplishments of the Class of 2026<\/strong>, including five outstanding students who were recognized with special awards for academic excellence and leadership in the major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Victoria<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Senior Arusa Malik <\/strong>(right), with her thesis advisor and mentor Victoria Harms<\/strong> (History), was awarded the 2026 Pier Larson Prize for All-Around Achievement in International Studies<\/a>. The Larson Prize, named in memory of the late Pier Larson (1962-2020), is awarded annually to a member of the graduating class who best exemplifies Dr. Larson\u2019s broad interests in global studies, foreign languages, and interdisciplinary scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
