The Program in Islamic Studies offers a small number of grants to undergraduate and graduate students to supplement their summer research projects. Those who receive funding may be invited to share their work at a workshop held during the following academic year.
Undergraduate and graduate students proposing to conduct research related to Islamic studies during the summer of 2020 are invited to submit proposals for grants up to $1,500 for graduate students and $500 for undergraduate students. IMPORTANT NOTE: if you are applying for travel funds, please be aware of COVID-19 travel restrictions. There is a strong chance that travel will remain restricted through the summer. If you are applying for travel funds, please provide an alternative timeline for research and travel should summer travel remain restricted.
2020 Grant Deadline: May 1
Submissions should include the following:
- Application form with abstract and project description (sources/methodology, proposed schedule, proposed budget)
- A letter of recommendation from a faculty member or faculty advisor. The letter should be sent directly to firstname.lastname@example.org (Homayra Ziad, Program Director)
