{"id":516,"date":"2023-03-24T10:42:57","date_gmt":"2023-03-24T14:42:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/it\/?page_id=516"},"modified":"2023-03-24T11:54:29","modified_gmt":"2023-03-24T15:54:29","slug":"mfa-multi-factor-authentication","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/it\/support-software\/mfa-multi-factor-authentication\/","title":{"rendered":"MFA (Multi-factor Authentication)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As cyber threats have increased in recent years, simple reliance on password protection is insufficient to keep your data and resources safe.&nbsp; Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is necessary for off-campus access to many JHU services, including access to the campus network via the VPN.&nbsp;&nbsp;MFA requires at least 2 of the following: something you know (JHED ID and password), something you have (your phone), or something you are (biometric factor, such as a fingerprint or facial scan).
