The Program in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies is pleased to welcome Jennifer Eaglin<\/strong>, Associate Professor of History, Ohio State University and fellow at the Wilson Center\u2019s Brazil Institute, to present:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brazil\u2019s Energy Past and Future<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Drawing on her recent book,\u00a0Sweet Fuel: A Political and Environmental History of Brazilian Ethanol\u00a0<\/em>and her new work on the history of nuclear power in Brazil, Prof. Eaglin will discuss the history and future of Brazilian energy regimes. Prof. Eaglin will chat with\u00a0Douwe Schipper<\/strong>\u00a0(History of Science, JHU) and\u00a0Dr. Nicole Labruto<\/strong> (Medicine, Science, and Humanities, JHU)\u00a0about the intersecting histories of alternative energy projects, political dictatorships, labor movements, and environmental change. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
