On Wednesday, September 13, Christian Fernandez will deliver a lecture titled, “Mario Vargas Llosa and Gabriel García Márquez in Dialogue.” Fernandez is an associate professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge. His scholarship focuses on Latin American colonial and postcolonial studies, with interests in transatlantic studies, Andean studies, critical theory, and comparative literature. Fernandez is the author of Inca Garcilaso: imaginación, memoria e identidad as well as numerous scholarly articles that range widely across Latin American literature and cultural history.
