Professor Bernadette Wegenstein<\/strong>‘s feature-length documentary The Conductor<\/a> (2021) opened this winter to critical acclaim in a half-dozen North American cities, from New York to San Francisco. Wegenstein’s glowing portrait of trailblazing Baltimore Symphony Orchestra conductor Marin Alsop garnered high praise from L.A. Times critic Robert Abele<\/a>. The film, which premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival, was discussed on NPR by Alsop in conversation with noted radio host Scott Simon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The documentary showcased March 18 on an ABC News Live PRIME<\/a> segment with journalist Phil Lipof. The film\u2019s television premiere took place on PBS stations around the nation Friday, March 25, 2022, as part of the acclaimed Great Performances<\/a> series, and in celebration of Women\u2019s History Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
