How does politics begin anew? In his talk, political philosopher&nbsp;Facundo&nbsp;Vega examines the strengths and limitations of Hannah Arendt\u2019s account of \u201cbeginnings\u201d. Vega shows how Arendt\u2019s reflections on \u201cthe beginning\u201d attempt to avoid theories of pure spontaneity, great-event history, and historical contingency, arguing instead that, for Arendt, beginnings are ultimately dependent on what she calls \u201cthe principle of beginning\u201d.
