Students Attend Hearing of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee

On October 25, 2016, Elizabeth Rodini and five students in her “Who Owns Culture?” course attended the open hearing of the Cultural Property Advisory Committee at the Department of State in Washington, D.C. They listened to public testimony regarding the renewal of Memoranda of Understanding with Cyprus and Peru and chatted briefly with members of the Committee, including the chair, Patty Gerstenblith (who will be speaking on campus on March 13, 2017). It was exciting to hear from the various communities with a stake in the protection and preservation of cultural heritage, and to see policy making in action.
