The 2023-2024 McDermott Internship is a full-time, paid internship that provides those with undergraduate or graduate degrees in art, art history, art education, museum studies, and related fields the opportunity to explore a museum career.

McDermott Interns spend nine months working closely onsite with staff in their areas and those across the Museum on a variety of exhibitions and programs. Interns are offered benefits as well as opportunities for cultural enrichment outside the DMA and $500 toward their qualified professional development. Eight specific internship positions are available and applications are due March 17, 2023.

Additionally, they are offering eight paid Summer Art Camp Intern positions, open to current students who are interested in supporting in-person DMA summer camp programs for children aged 4-12. Note that the application deadline for these positions is March 31, 2023.
