“What is Happening?”\u00a0was an interactive three-part performance art series\u00a0 sponsored by an\u00a0Andrew W. Mellon Arts Innovation Grant\u00a0and produced by\u00a0Museums and Society students Sarah Braver and Helena Arose for 2016-17.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Part one, on December 8, 2016, located outdoors in front of Mudd Hall,\u00a0“Climate Change: Baltimore and the Environment”<\/em><\/a> was conducted in partnership with MICA student Yurie Murayama and the Johns Hopkins SEA (Students for Environmental Action). The exhibit\u00a0focused on Baltimore’s relationship with environmental safety.<\/p>\n Part two, on April 3, 2017, located in Memorial Hall in Gilman, “Distortion, Destruction, and Memory,”<\/a><\/em> partnered with students in M&S course AS.389.440 Who Owns Culture? and MICA student artist Suwan Kim focused on topics of cultural heritage, personal and group memory, and loss.<\/p>\n
