We aim to share ongoing work by&nbsp;JHU staff, faculty, students, and alumni of varied disciplines in the realm of public history; discuss resources and challenges; foster collaboration across disciplines at the university; and explore how public history practices&nbsp;might be further developed and integrated into research and teaching at JHU. The event begins with a luncheon, which is followed by four sessions each organized around a theme:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>12:00pm &#8211; Catered Lunch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1:00pm &#8211; Digital Public History<br>2:00pm &#8211; Critical Public History<br>3:00pm &#8211; Arts, Culture, and Public History<br>4:00pm &#8211; Curation as Public History<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Registration Required &#8211; Please register <a href=\"https:\/\/form.jotform.com\/250975771667170\">here<\/a> for the lunch and afternoon event. <em>Seats are limited!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The convening will be followed by the Department of History\u2019s annual Harrison Lecture (6pm in Gilman 50).&nbsp;This year\u2019s featured speaker is Dr. Nicole King, Associate Professor and Acting Chair of American Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and Director of the Orser Center for the Study of Place, Community, and Culture. Dr. King co-founded of the Baltimore Traces: Communities in Transition public humanities project. She is the author of numerous articles on race, place, and power in the urban history of the U.S. South.
