Course details can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/neuroscience\/bams-program\/sample-bs-ms-programs\/\">sample program page.&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make an appointment to meet with Academic Advisor (not faculty advisor) to remove yourself from the graduation list for your intended graduation year.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Summer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Program Office&nbsp;will register you for your summer research via SEAM. This is no longer done on paper by the student.&nbsp;The course on your transcript will be 990.892 Summer Independent Research. Please note: Juniors in the program will register for 080.550.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Second Semester<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>(All fifth-year students will receive their 50% tuition during this year; fourth-year seniors are not eligible for this tuition.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Register for BS\/MS courses.&nbsp;Course details can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/neuroscience\/bams-program\/sample-bs-ms-programs\/\">sample program page.&nbsp;<\/a><br>(If you are an actual senior in your seventh semester, you will need to register via SEAM and will you will need to upload your acceptance letter in SEAM when registering for courses.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make an appointment with your Academic Advisor (not faculty advisor) to add yourself to your intended graduation year list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should also apply for graduation online, through SIS.<br><strong>Apply to graduate<\/strong>&nbsp;The Graduation Application is an online form in SIS under \u201cRegistration,\u201d then \u201cProgram of Study,\u201d then \u201cApply to Graduate.\u201d Verify the information is correct before submitting the application. All majors and minors should be correct but name changes may have not processed yet.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intersession<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Baraban and Hope Fisher will work with you on selecting a faculty member who is familiar with your research area to serve as the third member of your Thesis Defense committee, in addition to the research mentor and the Program Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Final Semester<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Register for BS\/MS courses. Course details can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/krieger.jhu.edu\/neuroscience\/bams-program\/sample-bs-ms-programs\/\">sample program page. <\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check with Academic Advising at the beginning of the semester to be sure you are on the list for graduation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check with the Registrar\u2019s Office to be sure you have applied for graduation for both your BS and your MS.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Master\u2019s Thesis Defense<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dr. Baraban and Hope Fisher will work with you on scheduling your thesis defense.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An electronic copy of your thesis is due to Hope Fisher no less than two weeks prior to your defense.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your defense will consist of 30-40 minutes of presentation and 10-15 minutes of Q&amp;A.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For help on organizing your thesis, please <a href=\"http:\/\/guides.library.jhu.edu\/\">refer to this&nbsp;guide&nbsp;provided by the&nbsp;Sheridan Libraries<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be a debriefing of the full year at the end of each semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Application Semester First Semester Summer Second Semester (All fifth-year students will receive their 50% tuition during this year; fourth-year seniors are not eligible for this tuition.)
