Wireless Networks

Wireless access on campus is available through three separate SSIDs.

  1. Hopkins – Hopkins wireless is the primary wireless network for all JHU divisions. It is a secure network and access is restricted to JHU faculty, staff and students.
  2. Eduroam – Eduroam is the secure worldwide federated network access service developed for the international research and education community. As a member of this community JHU provides enhanced, secure wireless access to users from member institutions and JHU users are provided this same level of access while visiting other member institutions. Some internal JHU resources may not be accessible from this network.
  3. JHGuestnet –  JHGuestnet, which has limited functionality and bandwidth, is designed for guests to the university only. Most, if not all, university systems do not allow access from the guest network. The guest network is not secured and should not be used for university business of any kind.
