PHS Student, Jessica Amaya-Torres Named November’s Cummings Scholar

Jessica Amaya-Torres (‘27), a Public Health Studies student, has been named November’s Cummings Scholar alongside Louis Lapp (‘28), a Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science major. Jessica was recognized for her dedication to advancing health equity and her transformative experiences in public health, including her work as a health advocate and her recent internship with the Planetary Health Alliance during the D.C. Hopkins Semester.

With support from the Cummings Scholarship, Jessica plans to pursue opportunities that align with her mission to dismantle barriers to equitable care and ultimately earn a Ph.D. in health policy and leadership.
