Job Opportunity for Graduating Seniors: San Francisco Fellows Program

Posted: December 12, 2022

The City and County of San Francisco provides a unique opportunity to learn about public administration in local government while working full time as a City employee through the San Francisco Fellows Program. Competitively selected applicants will join a cohort of Fellows for a 12-month full-time work experience as City employees. Fellows will earn a salary, plus health, dental, retirement and other benefits.

Karen Chen (PHS alum, Class of 2020) is currently a San Francisco Fellow with the SF Municipal Transportation Agency. In her words, “This year-long fellowship places Fellows at various City and County Departments, including six this year in the Department of Public Health ranging from HIV services and harm reduction to maternal and child health. Other departments include the Municipal Transportation Agency, Public Utilities Commission, and Mayor’s Office of Disability. Fellows have weekly afternoon sessions for personal and professional development. It’s a great opportunity to gain experience working in local government!”

For details, visit the San Francisco Fellows Program webpage  and application information. The deadline is January 20, 2023. Karen is happy to answer questions or set up a call with students interested in learning more. Karen can reached at Karen.Chen@sfmta.com or via LinkedIn.
