Project Description:  The obesity education gap is a key barrier to guideline-concordant obesity care. To overcome practice barriers due to the education gap, this study proposes to refine and test an obesity medicine curriculum for internal medicine (IM) residents in the primary care setting that emphasizes evidence-based obesity management strategies. This work presents an opportunity to design a curriculum that improves obesity education for IM residents, increases awareness of the field of obesity medicine, and encourages interest in/pursuit of advanced training in obesity medicine – this work may ultimately create a setting that leads to improved care and outcomes for patients with obesity.
