Research Assistant Position with Department of Epidemiology

Posted: September 23, 2022

The Department of Epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health is seeking a full time Research Assistant  to assist two PIs (Drs. Shruti Mehta and Priya Duggal) in coordinating their departmental and research activities. This is an opportunity to be broadly exposed to all aspects of epidemiologic and public health research from inception of ideas, to implementation of data collection and summarizing research findings. Dr. Mehta’s research focuses on HIV, hepatitis C virus and injection drug use, and Dr. Duggal’s research focuses on genetic susceptibility to infectious disease. Drs. Mehta and Duggal are also involved in multiple studies relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The role is to provide overall support to the PIs across a broad array of research studies rather than support to a single study. This includes support of research related activities including grant, protocol and survey development, consent and sample collection, as well as some administrative support including calendar and meeting coordination. There may be opportunities for more intense engagement on a specific research project depending on mutual interest and completion of other activities. There may also be opportunities for publications.
