Cadet Summer Training (CST) <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past summer, rising MS4s graduated from Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, a 35-day mandatory training event where cadets were evaluated and challenged on their leadership capabilities. Cadet training involves rifle qualification, land navigation testing, an obstacle course, three ruck marches, the ACFT fitness test, CBRN gas chamber, and two weeks of field training. Congratulations to our MS4s for their hard work and perseverance!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadet Troop Leadership Training (CTLT) is designed as a \u201cfollow-on\u201d training experience for ROTC Advanced Camp graduates. CTLT offers cadets the opportunity to intern and perform the duties of a Second Lieutenant for up to one month with an active duty unit in the continental United States or overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadet Furman attended CTLT in Fort Liberty, NC Here’s a little about her experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was with the 389th Military Intelligence Battalion. During my time there I was able to participate in a special warfare training exercise, observe mortar fires, and walk through a shoot house. I learned a lot about the relationship you need to have as an officer with your NCO’s. I also had the opportunity to meet an Blue Jay alumni 1 LT Cole Simmons Stevenson Class of 2020 during my time there.”<\/strong> -CDT Furman, JHU<\/strong> <\/p>\n<\/div>

Cadet Morgan attended CTLT in Ansbach, Germany. Here’s a little about her experience<\/p>\n“I was with 4th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Regiment they were the first Battalion in the Army to test, receive, and field the Mobile Short Range Air Defense M-SHORD system. We learned all about this system and how ADA supports our allies across the European Theater. My key takeaways from this experience are Air Defense systems are the future of our fight, and that planning and preparation absolutely matter at every level! Additionally, getting to learn the Charlie Battery soldiers about their knowledge and advice was an honor and something I will never forget. Be a sponge and never stop asking yourself what you can learn from the people around you. Being good to people goes a long way, stay humble, and stay curious” -CDT Morgan, UMBC <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Internships<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This summer I had the opportunity to travel to Vicenza, Italy to shadow providers at the Health Clinic at Camp Ederle! I rotated between different primary care specialties including pediatrics, optometry, and physical therapy. I even got to work with the 173rd Airborne Brigade both in clinic and during medic trauma training. Overall it was an incredible experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering the medical field!”<\/strong> –CDT Shivani Kapoor, JHU ’24 <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>

“I conducted computational research into radiation detection materials, as well as conducted research on generative artificial intelligence for use in research economy.
