These travel grants are intended to facilitate graduate research in Europe, on topics relating broadly to Europe from Greco-Roman antiquity to the eighteenth century. The deadline for receipt of applications is <strong>12pm on Friday, April 10. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong>: JHU graduate students; strong preference to students who have reached ABD status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Terms<\/strong>: A maximum of $7,500 granted on a competitive basis to students proposing a worthy plan of research in Europe for Summer\/Fall 2026.\u00a0 Students who have previously received a Singleton Graduate Research Fellowship may apply in subsequent cycles provided that the total amount awarded will not exceed $7,500.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Application<\/strong>: Interested students should submit a 1200-word statement explaining the project and reasons to go abroad; a university transcript; a tentative budget; and a letter from the dissertation advisor. The application must have a <span>single cover sheet <\/span>containing the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicant name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home department<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Email address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advisor&#8217;s name<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Year of graduate study<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date (or projected date) of reaching ABD status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project title<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abstract (150 work maximum)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Requested funding amount<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expected travel dates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals should be specific about what archives\/sites\/documents\/objects\/etc. are to be used during the period of the award and how these sources contribute to the dissertation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants are expected to obtain some funding from their home departments in support of their research as well as obtaining Singleton funding. <span>Indication must be provided<\/span> of any current or past departmental or other funding of the applicant\u2019s research. <em>Proposals that arrive late or that do not conform to the guidelines presented here will<strong> not<\/strong> be reviewed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Send applications to<\/strong>: Megan Zeller, Singleton Center, Administrator, Gilman 301, <a href=\"mailto:mzeller4@jhu.edu\">mzeller4@jhu.edu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deadline<\/strong>:\u00a012pm on Friday, April 10.\u00a0 Awards will be announced in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Singleton Center is now accepting applications for Summer\/Fall 2025 Graduate Fellowships for Research in Europe.
