Virtual Info Session: Humanities Collaboratory and PhD Pathway Programs

October 18, 2023 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm

Johns Hopkins University’s Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (URSCA) hosts two 10-week summer research programs for visiting undergraduates: the Mellon Humanities Collaboratory (HLAB) and the Ph.D Pathway for Advancement in the Humanities and Social Sciences (PATHS).

HLAB invites emerging humanities students from community colleges across the country to participate in an intensive and innovative summer research experience through the Mellon Humanities for All program.

PATHS aims to recruit and prepare students from backgrounds underrepresented in academia to pursue PhDs in the humanities and social sciences. This program is for rising and juniors and seniors enrolled in HBCUs, HSIs, MSIs, AANAPISIs, and tribal colleges nationwide.

Both programs support students in developing and undertaking independent research projects in a student-centered, collaborative setting that uses peer modeling to develop undergraduates as subject matter experts.

Join us for this virtual info session to learn more about these summer programs and hear from the past participants.
