Ho Family Summer Study Abroad Scholar

The Ho Family Summer Study Abroad Scholar award is intended to support immersive educational experiences in East Asia. The award grants approximately $5000 to one awardee will be administered annually by the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity.

Priority will be given to an undergraduate or graduate student studying language in East Asia and with demonstrated financial need, with preference for students studying East Asian history. This might, for example, include language courses toward the East Asian Studies major requirements or specialized language study, such as epigraphy or a classical Asian language.

For a student who seeks to develop their knowledge of an East Asian language, this fund can be used to cover associated costs including air travel and housing.

In the event that there are no appropriate candidates seeking to enroll in a study abroad program, secondary priority may be given to an undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need seeking to pursue an internship or other unpaid professional development opportunity in East Asia.

As one of the undergraduate research awards administered by URSCA, you can apply for the Ho Family Summer Study Abroad Scholar along with the other awards offered to Krieger undergraduates annually.
