On October 24, 2024, the Name Review Board (NRB) announced its decision to remove the Woodrow Wilson name from the prestigious undergraduate research fellowship overseen by the Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (URSCA). For now, the fellowship will be known as the University Undergraduate Research Fellowship (UURF), with the possibility of a new name being assigned at a future date. While the name is changing, the fellowship program itself remains the same: it will continue to provide $10,000 of funding to a select group of Krieger School undergraduates to pursue a three-year research project of their own design.

To learn more about the NRB’s decision to de-name the Woodrow Wilson Undergraduate Research Fellowship, please see the Hub article, Recommendations made on fellowship, residence hall entry named for former U.S. President Woodrow Wilson

For more context on and community responses to the de-naming, please see the News-Letter article, Name Review Board recommends renaming of the Woodrow Wilson research fellowship and contextualization of AMR entryway.
