Every summer, Johns Hopkins University’s Office of Undergraduate Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activity (URSCA) hosts the Mellon Humanities Collaboratory (HLAB), a 10-week research program for visiting undergraduates.

HLAB invites emerging humanities students from community colleges across the country, as well as eligible students applying through the Leadership Alliance First-Year Research Experience, to participate in an intensive and innovative summer research experience through the Mellon Humanities for All program.

Participants in the Humanities Collaboratory pursue research projects of their own design in a student-centered, collaborative setting that uses peer modeling to develop undergraduates as subject matter experts. All participants receive travel to and from Baltimore, housing for the 10 weeks of the program, and a competitive stipend.

In this virtual info session, we will give an overview of the Humanities Collaboratory program, step through the application process, give tips on the various application elements, and answer questions. The info session is open to all prospective participants, as well as faculty/staff mentors who wish to learn more about the program.
